She was predeceased by: her parents, Mulvin Day and Everlina Mays; her children, Joyce Reynolds, Justine Taylor, Rosetta Townsend, Carletha Lee, Ralph Higginbotham and Joe Higginbotham; and her husband Nathan Higginbotham.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lynn Graham (Santonio) of Jacksonville, FL and Leah Higginbotham of Brunswick, GA; and her goddaughter Alvita McWhite. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, sixty great grandchildren, three great- great grandchildren; three nephews; four nieces.
