He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Stanley and Gertrude Stanley (Skeens); and his siblings, Geneva Stanley of Virginia, Robert Stanley II of Ohio and Nathan Stanley of Tallahassee.

He is survived by: his wife Hisako Stanley of Thomasville; his sisters, Shirley Long (Don) of Bunnell, FL and Joann Sintz of Jefferson, OH; his children, Margaret Stanley of Thomasville, Robert Stanley III of Boston and Mark Stanley of Ochlocknee; his grandchildren, Kelly Hurst (Chris) of Thomasville, Bo Stanley of Thomasville and Brooke Stanley of Thomasville; and his great grandchildren, Eli Thornton and Jace Hurst of Thomasville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
