He was predeceased by: his parents, Peggy Jones Smith and Charles Richter Smith, Jr.; his brother Thomas Gerry Smith; and his nephew Mitchell Bunker Smith. He is survived by: his wife Jacquelin Clark Smith; his children, Aubrey Brooks Smith Slye (David) of Houston and Andrew Lindsey Smith of New Orleans, LA; his grandsons, Harrison Philip Slye, Clark Lancaster Slye and William Walker Slye; his brothers, Charles Richter Smith, III (Lisa) of Gettysburg, PA and Turner Burckhardt Smith (Judy) of Baltimore, MD.; his sisters-in-law, Sherron Jones Smith of Macon, GA, Jan Clark Fuller of Gainesville, GA and Judy Clark Brown of Jasper, GA; and his nieces and nephews, Valyn Perini, Mackenzie Smith, Kate Venugopal, Liz Dorsey, Burck Smith, Logan Smith, Rick Dorsey and Clark Dorsey.
