He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leland Sybrandt, Jr. and Dorothy Nadine Trego Sybrandt. He is survived by: his wife Karen Hall Sybrandt; his sons, John (Teresa Sybrandt), David (Sharon Sybrandt) and Mark (Melissa Sybrandt); his sister Gail; his brother-in-law Nick Anderson; his grandchildren, Karissa, John Thomas, Peyton and Austin; and his great grandchild Piper.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested in John's honor that donations be made to Marine Corps League Detachment 1083, Athens, GA.
