He was predeceased by: his parents, James Boyd Martin, Sr. and Jessie Doty Martin; and his brothers, Bill Martin, Donald Martin and Ross Martin.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Martin (Angie), James Boyd Martin, III of Baxley and Jessie Coates (Kevin) of Enterprise, AL; and his brother Mike Martin of Alma. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
