It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerald Balcar (Yulee, Florida), born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on January 10, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick R. Balcar and Genevieve Pierce Balcar; and his wife Margaret Gwynne. He is survived by: his close friends, Amarae Brockway-Henson (Amie) and Amie Brockway-Henson of Margaretville, NY; his children, Elizabeth Balcar (Jerry Teplitz) of Virginia Beach, VA, Peter Balcar of New York, NY and Joanne Murdock (Brian Wiprud) of Edgewater, NJ.; his pet Chartwell; and also, Amigo and Pancho Double-Dog.
His domestic partner, Amarae (Amie) Brockway-Henson, was consistently by his side and, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, helped his children visit remotely numerous times prior to his death.
