He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Purcell and Pearl Purcell; his wife Lynelle Purcell; and his siblings, Harvey Purcell, Jr., George Purcell, Levada Bell, Geneva Hamilton, Joyce Blizzard and Becky Maddox.

He is survived by: his children, Wanda Crittenden (Bill) of Panama City, FL and Shawn Purcell of Oxford, FL; his grandsons, Heath Crittenden (Amber) of Brooksville, FL and Bret Crittenden (Lauren) of Southern Pines, NC; his great grandchildren, Tristan Crittenden of Brooksville, FL, Caden Crittenden of Brooksville, FL, Jace Crittenden of Brooksville, FL and Jarrett Crittenden of Southern Pines, NC; and his sister Merriam Purcell of Glennville, GA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 91 West County Road 466 Oxford, FL 34484 in Jerry's loving memory.
