He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Sigfrid and Teckla Berlinda Jönsson Ek; and his brothers, Clifton Ek and Gunnar Heinegard. He is survived by: his wife Marie LaBroad Ek; his stepson Kenneth Penrose; his granddaughter Kylee Penrose Hodges (Taylor); his great grandchild Coen Hodges; and his cousin Wivi-Anne Hjalmarsson Weber.
