She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Kiah and Alice Kiah (Fournier); her children, Mark Alexa, Jean Alexa and Rodger Alexa; and her brother Jerry Kiah.
She is survived by: her husband Richard A. Merchant of Titusville, FL; her daughter Darlene Kennedy (Timothy) of Titusville, FL; her grandchildren, Brandon Kennedy (Mara Moon), Rebecca Dupont and Jen Alexa; and her siblings, Paul Kiah, Louise Clark and Jeanne Lathrop.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Lorraine's honor to "American Space Museum & Walk of Fame", Titusville, FL. or the "Women's Center of Brevard".
