He was predeceased by: his parents, William P. Kemp and Molly C. Dees Kemp (Kate); his children, Patricia A. Hagan and Floyd P. Kemp; and his brother Perry J. Kemp.

He is survived by: his children, John W. Kemp of Ranger, Barbara J. Kemp of Canton, Georgia, Nell E. Kemp Robinson of Commerce, Georgia and Robin M. Cochran of Ocala, Florida. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
