He was predeceased by: his adoptive father Jack Highsmith of Midlothian, Virginia.; and his brother Bill Highsmith. He is survived by: his wife Dana; his father Jack; his sister Ann Lewis of Clover, Virginia; his children, Dolly Arenas of Tampa and Dolan Highsmith of Annandale, Virginia; and his pet Cotton. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
