It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James P. Powell (Sanibel, Florida), born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, who passed away on January 14, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rosa Lee and Henry Powell; his wife Mary Margaret; his children, Kim Dickerson (Rich), Jacquie Petrey (Steve), Grace Payne and Greg Powell; his grandchildren, Sarah Dickerson, James Dickerson (Adina), Katherine Dickerson, Olivia Petrey, Hannah Payne, McGregor Powell and Lacey Powell; and his brother Henry Lee Powell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to your local homeless shelter.
