It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kay Jean Derrer of Punta Gorda, Florida, born in Traverse City, Michigan, who passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Ouvry and Juanita Ouvry (Hardy); her husband Jack Derrer; her sisters, Mary Lou Sheppard and Phyllis Taylor; and her granddaughters, Ann Marie and Kay Lynn Derrer.
She is survived by: her sons, Doug Derrer of Mancelona, Dennis Derrer of Mancelona, David Derrer (Amy) of Mancelona, Don Derrer (Julie) of Bellaire and Dan Derrer (Natasha) of Mancelona; her grandchildren, Dustin Derrer (Johanna), Dakota Derrer (Evan Henry), Dylan Derrer (Samantha Meadows), Anthony Derrer (Mackensie Garlow), Ashley Derrer (Miner Cabela), Wyatt Derrer (Alicia Tomlin), Kaillie Johnson (Austin), Cody Derrer (Ashley Szymanski), Garrett Derrer (Madisen Forman), Alexis Derrer (CJ Camp), Olivia Derrer (Jake Paganelli), Dawson Derrer, Stasia and Peyton Derrer; her great grandchild Declan Derrer; and her sisters, Karol Span of Spring Lake, MI and Vicki Muehring (Carl Sutherland).
Since Kay was one of the founding members of the original Mancelona Sports Boosters, the family asks in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to the Mancelona Athletic Department, 112 St. Johns Ave, Mancelona, MI, 49659.
