She was predeceased by: her parents, Pliny Osmond Kirkland and Janie Ruth (Balkcom); her husband James Allen Reed (US Navy); and her son Stephen. She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer Cox and Elizabeth Reed; and her grandchildren, Blanche (Lee), Dylan, Mitchell (Alyssa), Joslin, Sarah and Stephanie Bird. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren.
