It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maggie Hires Cruce of Orange Park, Florida, who passed away on November 13, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathan Johnson and Verdie Hires (Altman); her husband Floyd Cruce; her daughter Karon Annette Cruce Graham (Joey); her granddaughter Stephanie Leigh Cruce Wilkinson; her great great grandchild Brantley Aaron Rigney; and her siblings, Thelma Hartley, Aurbrie, Nathan Eugene and Lawton Hardy Hires.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Elaine Cruce Howard (Ronnie), Larry Floyd Cruce and Gary Loyd Cruce (Linda); her siblings, Lue Bertha Hires Harvey, Wayne Hires and Lawrence "Vern" Hires (Brenda); and her sisters-in-law, Sally Hires (Aurbrie) and Jewel "Veta" Keene Varnes (Tommy). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, one step-grandson, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
