He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Sr. Pettis and Wanda Pettis; his spouse Shirley; his daughters, Carrie Jackson and Mandie Ranay Hanna; his siblings, Franklin Pettis and Nancy Field; and his children, Roy Pettis III, Alan Pettis, Sharon Weir and Elisa Gronau. He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
