With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cecil Choate of Niceville, Florida, born in Clinton, Kentucky, who passed away on December 22, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Frances Berry Blank; his wife Frances Payne Choate; and his brother Billy Vance. He is survived by: his children, Connie Choate (Gina) of Omaha, NE and Chris Choate (Tina) of Niceville, FL; his grandsons, Brandon Choate (Cori) of Manchester, NH, Jason Choate of Orlando, FL and Bret Selman of Omaha, NE; and his sister Katie Dodson of Paducah, KY..

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Cecil was the sweetest gentleman , he loved chocolate and I always enjoyed talking with him. Chris the care you gave and the time you spent with your dad is an inspiration to us all. The last time he fell, he didn’t want to bother you , he loved you so much . He sure loved the homemade ice cream you would bring to share , they all did and he was so proud of you .”
