With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leonard McNeese of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, born in Round Rock, Texas, who passed away on April 15, 2021 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Leonard McNeese to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his son Gregory E. McNeese; his parents-in-law, Larry (Bill) and Gertrude Redmon; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Newport. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Redmon of New Smyrna Beach, FL; his children, Sharon McNeese (Brant Hamilton) and Michael (Gabrielle McNeese) of Del Rio, TN; his grandson Jason (Melissa McNeese) of Ellijay, GA; his siblings, Sandra (Curtis Fuller) of Lubbock, TX and David (Jeannette McNeese) of Lubbock, TX; and his brothers-in-law, Gary Petrey of Lancing, TN and Harold Newport of Wartburg, TN. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
As a young student, Gene's teachers recognized his potential and allowed him to check out encyclopedias to read over the weekend; this was the foundation for his brilliant mind.
