He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mollie Hilldale and John Harry Hilldale; his children, Mark David Hilldale, Michael Loring Hilldale and Michelle Hilldale Browning; and his sister JoAnn. He was also cherished by five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Oak Hill, FL City Hall and designated for the Oak Hill Museum.
