He was predeceased by: his wife Ella Jean Dinkins; his grandson Gregory Michael Dinkins; his parents, Leon Dinkins and Marvin Taylor Dinkins; and his siblings, Gladys Walker, Lucille Conner, Blanche Long and Robert Dinkins.
He is survived by: his children, David Dinkins (Danese) of Macclenny, Fla., Wanda Holmes (Wayne) of Bryceville, Greg Dinkins (Deanna) of Macclenny, FL, Debra Peterson (Jerry) of Glen St and Natalie Combs (Boe Hurst) of Callahan, Florida; and his caregiver Dee Rowe. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.
