He was predeceased by: his former wife Nancy Fraser; his son William Hal Fraser III; and his stepgranddaughter Amanda Wales. He is survived by: his wife Nelda Fraser; and his sisters, Martha Chambers and Hazel Seay. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
