He was predeceased by: his parents, John Garrett Philips and Gussie Elizabeth Haskell Philips; and his great grandchild Michael. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte G. Philips; his children, Charles G. Philips (June) of Eufaula, AL, Cathy P. Gilmore (Bill) of Eufaula, AL, Russell S. Philips (Michelle) of Toney, AL, Melissa Murphy (Bill) of Lynn Haven, FL and Melinda A. Estes (Robert) of Hoover, AL; and his sister Elizabeth Smith of Marietta, GA.. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
