He was loved and cherished by many people including: his great-grandparents, John Edward Nelson, Jens Nissen, Denmark and Sarah Hix; his son George Edward Nelson, Jr. (Gail) of Anderson, SC; his sisters, Eldora Young (Nelson) of Venore, TN and Mina Bell Lee (Nelson) of Little Rock, AR; his grandchildren, Jonathan Sullivan (Christina) of Palmetto Bay, FL, Geoffrey Nelson (Tiffany) of Garland, TX, Richard Nelson of Panama City, FL, Cindy Fernandez (David) of Port St, Jennifer Nelson of Anderson, SC, Denson Plunk, Lane Nelson, Ephram Nelson, Cali Fernandez and Leslie Sullivan; his wife Ruth Nelson; his children, Edward Alcus Nelson, Richard Wayne Nelson and Lynda Bordelon (Nelson); and his grandson David Sullivan.
