He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Carter and Annie Carter; his wife Louise; and his brothers, Buford Carter, J. B. Carter and Earnest Carter.
He is survived by: his children, Ann Royals (Charles) and Danny Carter; his granddaughters, Stephanie Adkins (Ricky) and Christy Royals (Daryl Baurley); and his great grandchild Anna Marie Adkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
