He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Gessner and Helen Viola "Vi" Gessner (Johnson). He is survived by: his significant other Bonnie Kupczynski; his sons, Richard James Gessner (Wenda) of Woodinville, WA and Thomas Charles Gessner (Kimberly) of Plymouth, MN; his grandchildren, Steven Gessner, Kelli Gessner, Rachel Gessner, Erik Gessner, Kaden Kupczynski, Brenden Kupczynski and Madisen Kupczynski; his brother Donald Gessner (Stephanie) of Lecanto; his significant other's children, Holly Swanson (Eric) of Minneapolis and Lee Kupczynski (Kimberly) of Elk River, MN; and the mother of his children Nancy Gessner of Duluth. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
If so desired, memorials may be directed to the Shriner's Children Hospital and/or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
