He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Heimensen and Mildred Heimensen (Kruger). He is survived by: his wife Leah Heimensen of Largo, FL; his children, Jeffrey Heimensen (Amanda) of Sioux Falls, SD, Jil Heimensen of Portland, OR and Collin Heimensen (Abbey) of Clearwater, FL; his granddaughter Brenna Gilbert of San Francisco, CA; his children, Callan Gilbert of Anchorage, AK, Daphne Heimensen of Sioux Falls, SD and Ia Gilbert of Puerto Vallarta, MX; and his siblings, Rodney Heimensen (Myrna) of Primghar, IA, Jane Einck (Roger) of Primghar, IA and Jean Heimensen of Primghar, IA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake to be used for a new sanctuary piano.
