It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Spires of Lake Butler, Florida, born in Gainesville, Florida, who passed away on October 19, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Willie Mae Dampier Spires and Fernie Lois Spires; his children, Shelly Spires Starling (Rick), Michael Spires (Sharlene) and Sara Spires Owen (Ken); his grandchildren, Zachary Starling, Amanda Spires Simmons (Luke), Christopher Starling, Trey Owen, Georgie Spires, Madeline Spires, Sara Owen Maughon (Michael), Matthew Starling (Anna), Andrew Starling, Amy Owen and Timothy Spires; his sister Lila Spires Mader (Bob); his friend Robert Allen; and also Art Peterson. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
