He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde and Geneva (Alford); his wife Betsy "Crenshaw" Hersey; and his siblings, Raymond Hersey, Denise Hersey Norman, Becky Reddish and William Newham.
He is survived by: his daughters, Mindy Hersey Polk (Randall) of Starke, Danielle Hersey of Keystone Heights and Tori Hersey of Keystone Heights; his siblings, Margaret Brannen, Dewitt Hersey (Helen), Doley Hersey (Mary), John Wayne Hersey (Peggy) of Theressa, Donald Hersey (Charlotte) of Palatka, Dwight Hersey (Lois) of Worthington Springs and Lancin Hersey (Tootie) of Brooker; and his stepbrother David Newham.
