He was predeceased by: his parents, Broward Akridge and Mary Akridge (Giddens); his son Edgar Scott Akridge; and his siblings, Edward Akridge of Washington, E. L. Akridge, Dick Akridge and Eula Mae Crews.
He is survived by: his wife Denise (Smart); his children, Valerie Akridge Alvers (Rick), Mary Akridge, Eric Paul Akridge and Celena Julius (Ryan); his siblings, Emmett Akridge, Alan Akridge, Alma Packham, Elaine Crawford and Jean Readydough; his grandchildren, Cody, Tyler, Austin, Lauren, Nolan and Haley; and his great grandchildren, Aaralyn, Laney, Baylor, Karter, Lyla and Brooklyn.
