He is survived by: his wife Linda Kirby Sowell; his son John; his daughter-in-law Mandy Sowell of Jasper; his daughter Cheryl; his son-in-law David Rudy of Jasper; his brother George Sowell Jr. of Pensacola, FL.; and his grandson Brian "Rick" Brown.
