We are sad to announce that on October 30, 2020, at the age of 83, Emmett M. Mathis of Jasper, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Mathis and Nellie Bennett Mathis. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Carey Mathis; his children, Denise Wetherington (Samuel) of Jasper, FL., Diane Gist of Lake Park, GA., Carl Horst (Mary) of Valdosta, GA. and Susan Armstrong (Scott) of St. Louis; and his grandchildren, Scott Montague, Lindsey James, Stephanie Davis, Meagan Vaughan, Christopher Armstrong and Rachel Oliver-Childress. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
