MAYES, ESTHER LOUISE, 79.
Went to join her creator on April 18, 2023 at Community Hospice Hadlow Center for Caring, Jacksonville, Florida.
She was a wife, homemaker, and secretary for Duval County School Board. She was very involved with both her small group and her church of Eleven22. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, tennis, cross stitching, playing with her granddogs and shopping with her daughters.
She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Daniel Mayes; four sisters, Phyllis Carpenter, Barbara Hilborn, Beverly Smith, and Janet Jacobsen. She is survived by her sister, Patty Edwards, her two daughters, Colette (Eddie) Laing and Beka (Mark) Laing, her two grandchildren, Liz (Chas) Willix and Edward Laing, and great-grandchild, Rory Willix.
A funeral service for Esther will be held Monday, April 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Following the funeral service will be a committal service in Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
