He was predeceased by: his parents, James McDonald and Lettie Mae Wright; his brother Keith McDonald; his son Keith McDonald; his former wives, Joanna Rice McDonald and Lois McDonald; and his sister Wanda Edmonds.

He is survived by: his wife Sandie McDonald; his brother Larry Scheffler; and his children, Wayne McDonald (Melanie), Emma Keator (Denny Eaton), Blanche Sewell (John), Bernice Zolla, David McDonald (Kathy), Hugh McDonald (Terry) and Kay Ann Tracey. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
