He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruffy Haywood Ellis and Lillie May Betterton Ellis; his former wife Rose Marie Cunningham Ellis; his wife Mary Ann Raker Ellis; and his sister Wilma Rachel Smith.
He is survived by: his brother Charles Hubert Ellis of Hartselle, AL; his daughters, Dixie Anne Zumwalt of Gulf Breeze, FL and Leslie Ruth Naucke of Corinth, MS.; his grandchildren, George Nolte of Edgerton, WI., Michael Nolte of Chicago, IL., Erin Thomas of Costa Rica, Lillie Zumwalt of Gulf Breeze, FL and Amee Vargas of Meridian, MS; his great grandchild Isabella Vargas of Meridian, MS; and his stepgranddaughters, Kristine Akers and Lara Lynn of Marine, IL. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
