He was predeceased by: his parents, Jet Hills and Mable Hills; and his siblings, Bernice Kelly, Juanita Hills and Jettie Hills.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Hills; his daughters, Phyllis Wright, Jackie Hills, Cynthia Appling and Gail Hills; his grandchildren, Takeisha Wright, Monique Stafford, Alanda Sams, Stephanie Camden, Edward Jones and Breonna Appling; his sister Helen Brown; his sister-in-law Catherine Hills; his children, Duane Thomas and Sharon Strauss; and his goddaughter Lameshia Eubanks. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
