He was predeceased by: his wife Frances; his parents, Theodore R. Bailey and Bessie Bailey; and his sister Callie Leonard. He is survived by: his children, James Patrick Bailey (Cheri) of Lakeland, FL, Sherill Diane Akin (Dain) of DeLand, FL, Kimberly Anne Miller (Donnie) of Panama City, FL and Terrell Wayne Bailey, Jr. (Romy); his grandchildren, Theodore, Jesse Bailey, Elizabeth Lynn, Todd Alexander Akin, Christopher Roberts, Teresa Moore, Dakota Roberts, Rosalee Miller and Addie Rose Bailey; his sisters, Jeannette Booth and Betty Williams (Charles); and his nieces and nephews, David Leonard (Denise), Susan DeForest, Steve Booth (Lisa), Sandy Wilson (Terry) and Jennifer Williams (Elizabeth Magarian).
