She was predeceased by: her parents, McKinley Hobart Lusk and Lucy Lusk of Virginia; her husband James Alton Kirkland; and her sister Phyllis Lusk Hickock. She is survived by: her brother William Davis Lusk; and her children, James Alton Kirkland II (Marcie), Alice Stafford (Dennis) and Samuel Kirkland (Wendy). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
