It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Monroe Smith Jr. of Defuniak Springs, Florida, who passed away on January 1, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Smith, Sr. and Dannie Mae Henderson Smith; and his sisters, Mary Bowers, Francis Danley, Louise Gavins, Verlon Parker, Joy Pervise and Ruth Lewandowski.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Smith; his sons, Greg Smith (Linda) and Quint Smith (Joy); his grandchildren, Brittany Denny (Derek) and Zach Smith (Shelby); his great grandchildren, Kyle, Leeanne, Lilly, Rhett and Maylee; and his siblings-in-law, Dewitt Campbell, Carol Williams and Irene Slay. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, friends.
