It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Madis Burgess of Defuniak Springs, Florida, born in Greenville, Florida, who passed away on April 21, 2022, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Reo Padgett and Loyce Whitehead Padgett; and her brothers, Cleo, Cleveland and Larry Padgett.

She is survived by: her husband Danny Burgess; her daughter Molly Moss (Kris); her grandchildren, Nathan, Emily, Brodie, Mary, Declan and Thomas; her siblings, Reo Padgett (Doris), Dianne Walsingham (Carthel), Versie Curry (Larry), Carrie Padgett and Pauline Carroll (Johnny Yates); and her close friends, Wanda Wilkerson, Mary Jane Miller, Linda, Danny Thompson and June Simmons. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
