He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Coon and Annie B. Coon; and his siblings, Mary King, Katherine Weeks, Roger Coon and Thomas Lundy.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Coon; his children, Brian Coon (Laurie) and Regina Coon; and his brother Willie Coon. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
