He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Emil Zingg and Martha Zingg (Biekert); his wife Carol Zingg; his children, Paul Zingg (Lori) of Ottumwa and Martha Gundel (Martin) of Midlothian; and his grandchildren, Katelyn Zingg, Rachel Zingg, Kirstin Gundel, Emily Gundel and Nicholas Gundel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Roy's name to The Iowa State University Foundation, 2505 University Boulevard, PO Box 2230.
