It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Thomas Pettis Jr. (Chipley, Florida), who passed away on June 25, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pettis and Thelma Pettis Hickman; and his brother James Pettis (Mary Lena Pettis). He is survived by: his wife Margery Pettis; his children, Randy (Leah Pettis), Margaret (Butch Harden), Glenda (Raymond Hartzog), Wanda (Scott Booth), Sandi (Floyd Aycock), Sharon (Curtis Carter), David (Marcetta Helms) and Howard (Lee Helms); and his siblings, Betty Lois Fears, Arletha Williams, Joyce Carmichael, David (Cindy Pettis) and Danny Pettis. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to either First Freewill Baptist Church Senior's Group 1387 South Blvd, Chipley, FL 32428, which John was a very active member of or the Gideon International 719 Griffin Rd, Chipley, FL 32428.
