He was predeceased by: his wife Jossie Florene Peairs; and his children, Lisa Batchelor (Steve), James Jolly (Marie), Patrick Peairs (Sherri), Erryn Atwood, Robyn Cohen and Brynn Peairs. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
