He was predeceased by: his former wife Carol Mahoney of Virginia; his daughters, Doreen Henderson, Doris Grzrgorezyk and MaryEllen Gunther; his parents, Anna Mae Mahoney (Libby) and John J. Mahoney; and his sister Ann Jurasek.

He is survived by: his wife Lillian Mahoney (Dixon); and his daughters, Kathy Polchan, Donna Toth, Carol Ann Logroi and Joanne Mahoney.
