He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bays Rose and Mattie Lou Womble Rose; and his siblings, James, Kathryn, Jack, Bill and Peggy.

He is survived by: his wife Maryln R. Rose; his children, Michael Clem (Kathy), Diana Payne, Ellie Burgess (Paul) and Cari Neufeld (Kerry); and his sisters, Dorothy Smith and Patsy Havenhill. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
