It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta M. Schafer of Bonita Springs, Florida, who passed away on April 24, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius A. Szalay and Aletha C. Szalay (Helmlinger); her husband Thomas C. Schafer; her son Randy L. Schafer; and her siblings, James Szalay and Dolores Voss.
She is survived by: her children, Bryan T. Schafer (Lisa) of Cincinnati, OH, Scott A. Schafer (Jeanne) of Granger, IN and Renee M. Williams; and her daughter-in-law Carolyn Ellington of Seymour, IN. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations in her memory be made to Hope Hospice 27200 Imperial Pkwy., Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
