He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert P. Colgan and Dorothea D. Colgan (Doherty). He is survived by: his wife Lois Jean Colgan (Pulvermacher); his brothers, Robert Colgan, Jr. of Estero, FL, John Colgan (Robin) of Greenwood, SC and Thomas Colgan (Cathy) of Estero, FL; his niece Colleen Bakker (Kevin); and his nephew Thomas Colgan (Stacy). He is also survived by many other friends' children.
