He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence W. Bruin and Beatrice Bruin (Haag) of Grand Rapids; his sister Deanna; and his brother-in-law Jerry Kamsickas. He is survived by: his wife Rita Peters-Bruin; his children, Dennis (Stacy Bruin), Douglas (Chandra Bruin II), Patrick (Andrea Bruin), Kelly (Nick Culver) and Kevin Bruin; his stepchildren, Chad, Desiree Fires, Stephanie Fires, Bo, Melanie Peters, Amber and Darrel Beasley; and his grandchildren, Laney, Adam, Amanda and Pashence. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
