He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtice Jones and James Simpson; and his siblings, Sandy S. Norris, LaDonna Sayes and Jimmy Simpson.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn G. Simpson; his children, Deanna S. Gibson (late Clyde Allen) and William "Hank" Simpson, Jr. (Julie); his grandchildren, Anna Mae Gibson Akers, William A. Gibson, William "Alec" Simpson and Olivia Simpson; his siblings, Maudel J. Hughey and Wally "Jerry" Simpson; his sister-in-law Linda Cipolla; his extended family Beth Creasy Nave; and also, Scott and Austin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
