She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Dewey Fields and Vina Fields; her sibling Charlie Fields; her husband John "Slugger" Smith; and her children, Lex Thompson (Carol Anne) of Tallahassee, Virginia Albritton of Bartow, Teri Markley of Bartow, Lynda McPherson of Wesley Chapel and Susan DeNeve (Mike) of Bartow. She was also cherished by 9 Grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Bartow First Baptist Church Food Pantry.
